When to use

  • Refining 10-year cardiovascular risk estimation in adults 40-69 with type 2 diabetes, adding HbA1c, age at diagnosis, and eGFR to the base SCORE2 predictors.

Formula

SCORE2 predictors plus HbA1c, age at diabetes diagnosis, and log(eGFR), each with age-interaction terms; same baseline survival and regional calibration as SCORE2.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Not intended for type 1 diabetes.
  • eGFR and HbA1c should be recent values, ideally within the past year.
