Formula
PAS II = (HAQ-II x 3.33 + pain VAS + patient global VAS) / 3, on a 0-10 scale. Categories: near remission <=0.25, low <=3.7, moderate <8.0, severe >=8.0.
Pearls and pitfalls
- The HAQ-II is easier to score than the original HAQ, which broadens applicability across rheumatic disorders.
