When to use

  • Quantifying and following functional disability in peripheral neuropathies such as CIDP and Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Formula

Total = arm scale (0-5) + leg scale (0-7). Range 0 (no disability) to 12 (maximum disability).

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Modified from the Overall Disability Sum Score with a lower-limb item that adds running and stair-climbing to reduce ceiling effects.
