When to use

Formula

One point each for: age >65 years, history of cardiovascular disease, syncope without prodrome, abnormal ECG. Range 0-4.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Derived and prospectively validated in Italian emergency departments.
  • Does not replace clinical judgement or dedicated syncope tools such as the Canadian Syncope Risk Score.
