mg
Complete the fields above to see the result.
When to use
- Maintaining reversal in opioid overdose with a long-acting or sustained-release opioid after an effective bolus.
Formula
Hourly infusion = two-thirds of the naloxone bolus (mg) that restored adequate ventilation. Titrate to respiratory rate.
Pearls and pitfalls
- Watch for recurrent sedation as the drip is weaned, and for withdrawal if over-titrated.
