When to use

  • Prognostic stratification in patients with established cancer, using routinely available CRP and albumin.

Formula

CRP <=10 mg/L = 0. CRP >10 mg/L with albumin >=3.5 g/dL = 1. CRP >10 mg/L with albumin <3.5 g/dL = 2.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Unlike the original Glasgow Prognostic Score, an isolated low albumin with normal CRP scores 0 in the modified version.
