When to use

  • Prognostic staging specifically validated in wild-type ATTR (ATTRwt) cardiac amyloidosis.

Formula

Stage I: troponin T <0.05 ng/mL and NT-proBNP <3000 pg/mL (both normal). Stage II: one biomarker abnormal. Stage III: both biomarkers abnormal.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Derived specifically in ATTRwt; the Gillmore system (NT-proBNP + eGFR) is validated in both wild-type and hereditary ATTR.
