When to use

Formula

eAG (mg/dL) = 28.7 x A1c - 46.7. eAG (mmol/L) = eAG (mg/dL) / 18.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Derived from the ADAG study; may be inaccurate where red-cell turnover is altered (haemolysis, recent transfusion, anaemia, pregnancy).
