When to use
- Assessing postoperative pain in young children (approximately 1-5 years) using purely observational criteria.
Formula
Sum of 6 domains (cry, facial expression, child verbal, torso, touch, legs). Range 4-13; a score of 6 or more is commonly used as the threshold for analgesia.
