When to use

Formula
Sum of points for age group, sex, high-risk ethnicity, family history, history of high blood glucose, antihypertensive use, smoking, physical inactivity, and sex-specific waist circumference bands. Range 0-35.
Pearls and pitfalls
- Score >=12 is the validated cut-off recommended for further glucose testing.
- Waist circumference cut-offs differ for people of Asian descent in the original tool; standard cut-offs are used here.
