Sum of 7 items, each scored 0-5 by symptom frequency (nocturia scored by number of episodes). Range 0-35: mild 0-7, moderate 8-19, severe 20-35.
Pearls and pitfalls
- Identical item content to the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS); IPSS adds an optional quality-of-life question not included in the summed score.
- Symptom severity does not always correlate with prostate size or flow rate.
