Age >=60 (1); BP >=140/90 (1); unilateral weakness (2) or speech disturbance only (1); duration >=60 min (2) or 10-59 min (1); diabetes (1). Range 0-7.

Pearls and pitfalls

  • Modern pathways favour urgent specialist assessment and imaging for all TIA regardless of score.
